Red Dragon Cartel - Red Dragon Cartel (2014)
It had been over fifteen years since guitarist Jake E. Lee released original material. His work with Badlands was amazing but always considered sort of cult classics within the hard rock community. Finally in 2014, Jake decided to record in a band form again (Red Dragon Cartel) with a variety of guest singers including Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Paul Di’Anno (Iron Maiden), Maria Brink (In This Moment), and Sass Jordan. Rounding out the vocal duties on the other tracks is Darren Smith.
While the album is well done and a good slab of modern hard rock, the ensuing tours promoting this album has been a nightmare with a revolving door of lead singers. (too many to count, but definitely over five different singers in about a year, yikes!)
